Terms of Service
Please read these terms carefully before using the MySchoolPad platform. By accessing or using our services, you agree to be bound by them.

1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using MySchoolPad ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"), our Privacy Policy, and any additional terms applicable to specific features.
If you are accepting these Terms on behalf of an organisation (such as a school), you represent that you have the authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.
If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not access or use the Service.
2. Description of Service
MySchoolPad is a school management platform that provides tools for student lifecycle management, communications, AI-powered learning, fee management, and related services ("the Service").
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the Service at any time with reasonable notice to affected users.
3. Account Registration
To access certain features, you must create an account. You agree to:
- Provide accurate, current, and complete registration information
- Maintain the security of your account credentials
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorised access to your account
- Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account
4. Acceptable Use
You may use the Service only for lawful purposes. You must not:
- Use the Service to transmit illegal, harmful, or offensive content
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code
- Use the Service to transmit unsolicited communications (spam)
- Impersonate any person or organisation
- Violate any applicable local, national, or international laws
- Engage in any activity that disrupts or interferes with the Service
5. School Data & Student Privacy
Where MySchoolPad processes personal data of students and staff on behalf of a school, the school acts as the data controller and MySchoolPad acts as the data processor. This is governed by our Data Processing Agreement, which forms part of your subscription agreement.
Schools are responsible for ensuring they have the appropriate legal basis to input student and staff data into the platform, and for obtaining any necessary parental or guardian consents.
6. Subscription & Payment
Access to premium features of the Service requires a paid subscription. By subscribing, you agree to pay the applicable fees as described in your chosen plan. All fees are:
- Fees are generally non-refundable except where required by applicable law or otherwise agreed in writing
- Exclusive of applicable taxes, which you are responsible for paying
- Subject to change with 30 days' written notice
If a payment fails and is not resolved within 14 days, we reserve the right to suspend access to the Service.
7. Intellectual Property
The Service, including all software, content, trademarks, and design, is owned by MySchoolPad Ltd and protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and use the Service for its intended purposes. This licence does not include the right to copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works of the Service.
You retain ownership of all data, content, and materials you upload to the Service. By uploading content, you grant us a limited licence to store and process it solely to provide the Service to you.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. We make no guarantee as to the accuracy or completeness of any information provided through the Service.
AI-powered features may generate inaccurate or incomplete outputs and should not be relied upon as the sole basis for academic, administrative, disciplinary, financial, or safeguarding decisions.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, MySchoolPad Ltd shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of revenue, or loss of profits, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
Our total liability to you for any claims arising under these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
10. Confidentiality
Each party agrees to protect confidential information disclosed by the other party and to use such information only as necessary to perform obligations under these Terms.
11. Termination
Either party may terminate the agreement at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service immediately if you breach these Terms.
Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Upon request made within 30 days of termination, we will provide a reasonable export of your data in a commonly used electronic format, after which we may delete it in accordance with our data retention policy.
12. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any disputes arising from or in connection with these Terms shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Rivers State, Nigeria.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or through the platform. Continued use of the Service after the effective date of updated Terms constitutes acceptance of those terms.
14. Force Majeure
We are not liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including internet outages, cyberattacks, natural disasters, labour disputes, or government actions.
